Book Review: This Book Will Make You Dangerous by Tripp Lanier

This Book Will Make You Dangerous - Tripp Lanier

Tripp has a really interesting back story, part rock n roller, part surfer, and all around bundle of knowledge around all things related to men and manhood. At times, his content can feel like it brushes up against being a little overly masculine, but the core of what he is talking about and how he goes about it is totally useful and enlightening.

When I saw Tripp had finally written a book, I quickly grabbed a copy on Audible and listened to it (I listen better then I read).

With a catchy title “This Book Will Make You Dangerous”, the book combines some strong self help related content based on his experience of hosting The New Man for the last decade, as well as his busy coaching practice. At the core of the book is how to live your life taking into consideration four core principals (I won’t give it away here) and how living in these will do nothing but help you create the life that you intended to create.

For me, with ADHD, this book was really inspiring. I admit, I have been living a little uninspired as of late. Certainly coaching is a very fulfilling profession, but there are more areas to my life besides coaching. I am a dad, creator, business person and many other roles that can, at times, be on autopilot.

This book reminded me that a life worth living is one built with intention. Tripp does an amazing job of gleaning his own experiences and coaching experiences to show how to integrate some of the things he talks about. Or as he said “Information is entertainment if its not applied”

Be prepared for some cursing and spirited stories, in fact, it was very much conversational and without a ton of wordy explanations. This book provides a step by step guide on creating a more intentional life, addressing some of the core issues that might cause men like me to cower or shrink.

I would definitely recommend this book to Nice Guys and ADHD’ers as a source of inspiration to create the life that you want to live.
